The neighborhood is very quiet and the natural landscape is unique. In the area you will find all the necessary as well as supermarket, restaurants, café and pharmacies. For your trips you can use a taxi or rent a car. However, there is a daily bus service from Plakias to Rethymno town. In the area there are several sights such as Preveli Monastery, Preveli Beach, Plakias Beach, Skinaria Beach, Kotsifos Gorge, Kourtaliotiko Gorge and Frangokastello fortress.
